Park Avenue Armory Veterans Room
In Spring 2016, Foreground Conservation and Decorative Arts finished a year and a half project in Associated Artists’ Veterans Room at the Park Avenue Armory. We researched, conserved and restored the original painted decoration on the ceiling, the cast plaster, and the 160+’ mural frieze. The original decoration had been installed by Louis Comfort Tiffany and his team in the 1880’s, it had been poorly reworked in the mid 20th century.
We brought the original palette, composition and intention back into public view. Visit our story page for a more comprehensive perspective: https://foregroundconservation.com/project/park-avenue-armory-veterans-room/?story=true
